Design for recycling criteria: third talk of the Bioplastics Recycling Talk Series

In this third talk, Lorette Du Preez, Head of Sustainability and Environmental Affairs at European Bioplastics, and Laura Tirkkonen-Rajasalo, co-founder and Chief Compliance Officer at Sulapac, delved into the Design for Recycling Criteria as per the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation and the work EUBP and its members are carrying out within the technical committees of the European Standardisation Body CEN.

Both experts are working within the technical committees of CEN on the development of recycling criteria for biodegradable plastics.

This event is part of a broader knowledge-sharing initiative by three research and innovation projects funded by the Circular Bio-Based Europe Joint Undertaking: ReBioCycle, MoeBIOS, and PROSPER. These projects aim to develop practical and scalable solutions for bioplastic recycling — from collection to manufacturing new products.
