Resources of the event on “Recycling strategies: What’s next”

Organised by: European Bioplastics

The projects ReBioCycle, BioSupPackBIOMACMoeBIOS,  and PROSPER are working on novel or improved recycling technologies to apply them to bioplastics. European Bioplastics has organised the event to present their recycling approaches on 9 December 2024 in Berlin and online, alongside the EBC24.

Contribution to the White Paper on “Alternative Feedstock for bioplastics: Bridging the gap between research and the market (White Paper)”

At the workshop held on 16 October 2024 at European Bioplastics in Brussels, European Bioplastics discussed the concepts of alternative feedstock with representatives of outstanding research and innovation projects and how biowaste can be successfully used for bioplastics production. In the proceedings of this workshop, ReBioCycle has also been mentioned, as one of the innovative projects addressing the challenge of recycling bioplastics.

Press release for the ReBioCycle launch

October 2024: The newly EU-funded ReBioCycle project provides a portfolio of bioplastic sorting and recycling technologies within three complementary waste- processor-centric hubs. These hubs will be established for different technologies and technology readiness levels (TRL) in the Netherlands, Italy, Spain and partly in Ireland. They will be focusing on mechanical recycling, chemical recycling, enzymatic recycling and microbial recycling.
