Audience: EXPRA members

Goal: Inform about the practical implications for collection, sorting and recycling systems, as well as the financing of these solutions and the possible role of EPR fees and fee modulation in supporting innovation.

Bioplastics: From Collection and Sorting to Circular Recycling Solutions

The objective would be to present the first concrete results of PROSPER, REBIOCYCLE and MOEBIOS and to discuss their practical and economic implications with selected Producer Responsibility Organisations.

Please find below a proposed agenda:

3:00–3:05 , Welcome and introduction

3:05–3:12 – European policy context
Bioplastics in the context of the PPWR, the EU Bioeconomy Strategy and the evolving European policy framework.

3:12–3:20 – PROSPER
Presentation of the project’s first results on mechanical recycling, including the recent findings on the behaviour of PLA over multiple mechanical recycling cycles.

3:20–3:28 – REBIOCYCLE
Presentation of the project, its recycling pathways and its first relevant results.
3:28–3:36 – MOEBIOS
Presentation of the project and its first relevant results on circular solutions for bioplastics.
